Topic: What God Hates [Open Heavens for Teens 16 July 2019]

Memorise: “And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.”Genesis 17:1

Read: Joshua 7:10-12

10 And the LORD said unto Joshua, Get thee up; wherefore liest thou thus upon thy face?

11 Israel hath sinned, and they have also transgressed my covenant which I commanded them: for they have even taken of the accursed thing, and have also stolen, and dissembled also, and they have put it even among their own stuff.

12 Therefore the children of Israel could not stand before their enemies, but turned their backs before their enemies, because they were accursed: neither will I be with you any more, except ye destroy the accursed from among you.

Bible In One Year: Psalm 19-21, Acts 19:21-41

MESSAGE:

Our God is sovereign. He created us to serve Him and have fellowship with Him. But we cannot fellowship with Him or enjoy a good relationship with Him if we don’t know what He likes and what He hates. All through the Bible, there is one thing God hates, and that is sin. God loves sinners but hates sin. As a child of God, you should also hate sin because sin takes you far away from God. As a matter of fact, it makes you His enemy.

Many people winder why they pray to God but He dies not even seem to hear them at all. The reason is simply because they are sinners. John 9:31 says:

“Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.”

Prayer Point:
Father, help me to do away with sin and live a holy life from today in Jesus’ name.

Hymn 2:

1 When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word,
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will,
He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey.

Chorus:
Trust and obey, for theres no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.

2 Not a shadow can rise, not a cloud in the skies,
But His smile quickly drives it away;
Not a doubt or a fear, not a sigh or a tear,
Can abide while we trust and obey.

3 Not a burden we bear, not a sorrow we share,
But our toil He doth richly repay;
Not a grief or a loss, not a frown or a cross,
But is blessed if we trust and obey.

4 But we never can prove the delights of His love
Until all on the altar we lay;
For the favor He shows, for the joy He bestows,
Are for them who will trust and obey.

5 Then in fellowship sweet we will sit at His feet,
Or we’ll walk by His side in the way;
What He says we will do, where He sends we will go;
Never fear, only trust and obey.
