Kogi State Governor, Capt Idris Wada has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to making life meaningful for the citizens.

The Governor made the assurance at the outing and thanksgiving service of Late Madam Ibironke Owa, held at First Ecwa Church, Odole Odo Eri, Yagba East LGA.

The Governor who was represented by his Deputy Yomi Awoniyi, said the welfare of citizens, which include the regular payment of salaries, payment of pension and improvement of infrastructures that will improve education and well being of the people.

The Governor disclosed that the administration has began the out right payment of gratuity to retired pensioners, said the well being of the aged in the society and other social welfare scheme that will improve lives of citizens will preoccupy his administration’s priority.

The Governor described late madam Owa as a woman of many parts, said her life of service, impacted all facet of the society, said she will be most remembered for bringing up her children, who today are personalities that are positively contributing to the socio political sphere of the nation’s life as commendable.

Awoniyi use the occasion to console the family Late Madam Owa left behind to take solace in the good works of their mother, said the government and people of the state share in their moment of grief.

In his sermon at the outing service, Rev J.O. Osatimehin, called on Nigerians to make the welfare of their aged parent a priority, disclosing that parents deserve the care and love of their children.

Rev Osatimehin, said heavenly blessing awaits children who make the upkeep of their parents a priority, described Late Madam Owa as a woman who dedicated her life to serving God.

In a remarks, Sam Owa, son of the deceased described his late mother as a source of inspiration, who inspired her children to be hard-working, patriotic and faithful in service, said the Kogi State Government support helped in the family in their trying moment.
