The goal of the Capt Idris Wada administration is to always strive to provide the greatest good to majority of its citizens.

Kogi State Deputy Governor, Yomi Awoniyi stated this in an address at the 3rd session of the seventh synod of the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, Diocese of Lokoja.

Awoniyi assured that the present administration will continue to provide accountable, responsive and responsive governance even in the face of dwindling resource.

The Deputy Governor said as the nation looks forward to the transition of administration at the centre, covets prayers for the country to continue to witness peace, progress and stability.

Awoniyi disclosed that government will depend on the Anglican church to continue to encourage their members to demonstrate righteous living in observance of the doctrine that righteousness exalts a nation.

Awoniyi said government will look forward to the far reaching outcomes of the synod that will translate to substantial benefits to the growth of the church, progress of mankind and to the glory of God.

Awoniyi expressed gratitude for the ceaseless prayers that were offered for the peaceful conduct of the last general election in the state and country at large, appealed for continued prayers for peace to be restored in places that are yet to experience the desired tranquility.

In his remarks, Bishop Emmanuel Egbunu, urged the in coming administration of General Mohammadu Buhari to prove to be trustworthy leaders, said Nigerians are tired of unfulfilled campaign promises.

The Bishop called for a drastic cut in the pay of Nigerian lawmakers, said it is unrealistic in a depressed economy.

The clergyman urged the in coming government to work to resuscitate the economy, improve health facilities in the country and intensify fight on insecurity and corruption among other sectors deserving attention.

The Bishop congratulated President Goodluck Jonathan for conceding defeat at the general election and congratulated the President elect for emerging victorious at the polls.

Bishop Egbunu lamented the high wage bill of the Kogi State Civil Service, appealed to the administration to fight the issues of ghost workers to a stand still, urged them to fight secret cows perpertrating corruption in the service.

The synod urged government in the state to also fight the incidence of miracle centers that has bedeviled the education sectors, urged for urgent attention on the worsening security situation of the state.
