According to Prophet Samuel, Eliab (the son of Jesse) had all the qualities of a king which is why he approved him, but God that sees inside of men rejected him immediately. This same Eliab withstood David in the battle against Goliath. 1 Sam. 16:6-7, 17:3. Jesus said so, so that you and I would not rely on men because they are not reliable; they change like chameleon. Our opening Scripture says, it will be a self deception if you expect all men to love you because you love God and do His will. You cannot be a child of God and at the same time be of the devil, you cannot be a friend of God and of the world; you cannot claim light and darkness, that also can only be self deception. The world hated even Jesus that died for them, so don’t be discourage if they show you they hate you, strengthen yourself in His love.
