Memorise: “I love those who love me.” – Proverbs 8:1a

Read: Romans 8:28

28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Bible In One Year: Psalm 128-131, 1 Corinthians 7:25-40

MESSAGE:

Yesterday, we discussed what it takes to be a favourite of God and the price to pay. Today, we will be discussing the benefits of being God’s favourite. I have been His favourite for many decades now and though there is a price to pay, the benefits far outweigh the price that I don’t want to ever be anything less than His favourite.

God tells His favourite His secrets. God said about Abraham, one of His favourites, that He cannot do anything without first informing Abraham (Genesis 18:17). When I tell people the things that will happen in the future, it is because God has told me what He hasn’t told anyone else. This always put me ahead of everyone else because I am well prepared for what is coming. When it was time to reveal details about the end time, God did not tell anyone else but John the Beloved, hence he wrote the Book of Revelations. If you want God to tell you secrets that no one else knows, become His favourite.

God’s favourite always receive speedy answers to prayer. At the last supper, when all the disciples asked Jesus for the identity of His betrayer, Jesus did not answer them, but when John the Beloved asked, Jesus couldn’t say no, He answered him immediately.

Key Point:

God shares secrets with His favourites.

Hymn 3:

1 There shall be showers of blessing
This is the promise of love;
There shall be season refreshing
Sent from the Savior above

Chorus:
Showers of blessing,
Showers of blessing we need;
Mercy drop ’round are falling,
But for the showers we plead.

2 There shall be showers of blessing
Precious reviving again;
Over the hills and the valleys,
Sound of abundance of rain.

3 There shall be showers of blessing
Send them upon us O Lord
Grant to us a refreshing;
Come now and honor Thy Word.

4 There shall be showers of blessing
Oh that today thy might fall,
Now as to God we are confessing,
Now as on Jesus we call!
