Fresh fact has emerged on how Governor Muazu Babagida Aliyu systematical looted the Local Government funds in eight years that gulp-up to billions of Naira.

Competent source from Government House Minna revealed to this media that Governor Aliyu milked the Local Governments fund dried through the joint account.

It was added that the Governor always directed the council Chairmen to sign for the allocation received from the federal government and only to give them any amount he feels like.

The Council Chairmen signed and Aliyu gives whatever he likes to them, source said.

EAGLE REPORTERS equally learnt that any chairmen who dare raise any reservation at the joint account meeting or question the integrity of the Governor always faces persecution from him thus, this was why many of them kept mute over the unfair treatment.

Another credible source who spoke to our Correspondent in Minna today said, Niger State Governor, Alhaji Aliyu and few others made away with N13Billion fund meant for the construction of Roads in the State.

He explained that State Governor and two others commissioners Alhaji Yusuf Garba Targwai Isah –Liman Kantigi and Alhji Yusuf Garba Targwai Isah –Liman Kantigi Nasko were involved in this deal.

He hinted that the fund was meant for the construction of 10 kilometer road network in Niger State.

Eagle reporters also learnt that the local governments Chairmen in the State were not left out in this deal and they always ask for their share through the contractor handling the construction of the roads across the local government in the States. So, the contractors on their part manage with the little fund at their disposal to complete the road project and few months that the State claimed to have completed the road project, it has become dilapidated and now a dead traps.

Reacting to this development, the All Progressive Congress in the State have blasted those involved in 10 kilometer road project and vow to probe the out-going government under the leadership of Governor Aliyu Babangida.

The party has therefore condemned in strong term the poor handling of the Road project and wonder how the Governor elected by the people would engage in shoddy deal.

Recall that last year, Mr. Aliyu openly denied tempering with the local government fund during the swearing in ceremony of care taker of committee chairmen in the state. This latest development has generated mixed reaction on the affairs of the State as new government takes over power in May 29.
