Rochas Okorocha

The Independent National Electoral Commission has declared the governorship election in Imo state inconclusive.

This was as a result of areas where results were canceled, which have voting population of 144,715 which is higher than the difference between APC and PDP (79,529).

The Returning Officer, Professor Ibidapo Obe, declared the election inconclusive, adding that a new date would be announced for a supplementary election in the cancelled wards spread across several local government areas.

APC candidate Rochas Okorocha was initially thought to have won the election after he polled 385,671 compared to the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Emeka Ihedioha who polled 306,142.
