Topic: Intercede [Open Heavens for Teens 17 April 2019]

Memorise: “Moreover as for me, God forbid that I should sin against the LORD in ceasing to pray for you: but I will teach you the good and the right way:” – 1 Samuel 12:23

Read: Ezekiel 22:30-31

30 And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.

31 Therefore have I poured out mine indignation upon them; I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath: their own way have I recompensed upon their heads, saith the Lord GOD.

Bible In One Year: 1 Samuel 22-25, Luke 16:1-18

MESSAGE:

Intercession is a process where a person positions him/herself in between two people: one with a need or a problem and the other person with the answer to the solution.

As a teenager, you are not too young to pray for others, especially your parents.

In this present age, providing for your needs can be very difficult. And since you are most likely doing anything to ease up their financial responsibilities, you can make it your point of duty to pray for them. Pray frequently for their health; a sick parent won’t be able to provide for you. Pray frequently that they get the things they after easily. Pray that they find favour and success in all their endeavours.

Also, when you come across someone with a need or a problem, after you have done what you can do physically to help, take it upon yourself to ask God to provide solutions to their problems. God is always looking for intercessors (Ezekiel 22:30), if you make yourself available to intercede for others, you make God happy and He will bless you for that.

Action Point: Pray for someone that you know that needs help.

Hymn 13:

1 Is your life a channel of blessing?
Is the love of God flowing through you?
Are you telling the lost of the Savior?
Are you ready His service to do?

Chorus:
Make me a channel of blessing today,
Make me a channel of blessing, I pray;
My life possessing, my service blessing,
Make me a channel of blessing today.

2 Is your life a channel of blessing?
Are you burdened for those that are lost?
Have you urged upon those who are straying
The Savior who does on the cross

3 Is your life a channel of blessing?
Is it a daily telling for Him?
Have you spoken the word of salvation?
To those who are dying in sin?

4 We cannot be channels of blessing
If our lives are not free from sin;
We will barriers be and a hindrance
To those we are trying to win.
