In Genesis 12, God told Abraham to leave his homeland and go to a new place. At the time, it didn’t make a lot of sense to Abraham because he was comfortable where he was. He had family and friends, and he was familiar with the land. Abraham could have easily chosen to stay right where he was, but he knew that if he would step out of his comfort zone, God would give him something better. He knew that the best choice was to obey God no matter what it cost him.

Today, maybe you have some decisions to make. You might sense that God is stirring you out of your comfort zone. It’s so easy to try to figure everything out in our own minds, but we have to take a step back and remember that God sees the big picture. He knows what’s best for us and where we need to be. Even when things don’t make sense in the natural, we can trust that God is working things out for our good.

I encourage you to follow Abraham’s example and obey God no matter what it costs. Take a step of faith and trust that He has already prepared the way for you. Even when we don’t know the outcome, when we feel His prompting, we need to just get going because He will always lead us in the path of blessing!

“We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps.” (Proverbs 16:9, nlt)
