The Kogi State Government says it is not relenting in its efforts to make the State the safest place to live in.

Yomi Awoniyi, representing Capt Idris Wada, stated this when he received in his office, Rev. (Mrs.) Phylis Soto, an American Missionary who was kidnapped on the 25th of February and released by her abductors on the 7th of March, 2015.

Awoniyi, commended the courage and tenacity of the missionary for her resolve to return to the state and to continue with her school and cattle grazing project located at Emiworo area of Ajaokuta Local Government Area of Kogi State, not minding the travails she went through in the hands of men of the underworld.

Awoniyi, assured her of government’s continued support in ensuring that she provides education to children of nomads and in establishing a grazing field.

Awoniyi assured that the State Government would work towards replicating the grazing project in the state and assured her of adequate protection to enable her achieve her purpose.

The Deputy Governor felicitated with the Fulani community in Emiworo, whose joy he disclosed knows no bound,  the return of the missionary he explained would see to the provision of quality education to their wards and a better grazing field for their cattle.

Earlier in her remarks, Rev. (Mrs.) Phylis Soto, thanked God for rescuing her from the hands of her captors, an experience she described as terrible.

Rev Soto disclosed that she returned to complete the purpose given to her by God, described Kogi State as her place, safe to live in having lived in the State for ten years.

Mrs. Soto commended Capt Idris Wada for his support to her education and grazing project, and also commended all the stakeholders in Emiworo for their concern during her travails assuring that she will continue her work of offering service, describe the people of Kogi State as her people and friends, who greatly assisted her in the progress of her project in the last ten years.

Present at the visit was Alhaji Dauda Abdullahi and Mugode Bature, Chairman and Secretary of Fulani community in Emiworo who all expressed joy at the return of Rev Soto, commended her resilient in the face of the recent challenge she went through, urged her to continue with her good works for the community.
