The Kogi State Government has promised to look into the four months old electricity problem that has affected the people of Imane, in Olamaboro LGA of Kogi State.

Capt Idris Wada, Kogi State Governor gave the promise to look into the electricity problem of Imane and other communities in the state at the wedding solemnization between Godwin Idagili and Blessing Onoja daughter of Chief Sylvester Onoja, Chairman Teaching Service Commission, held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church,  Imane, Olamaboro LGA.

The Governor disclosed that Government has made a special appeal to the Federal Government to enable it control and distribute a large chunk of power generated from Geregu power station in Ajaokuta to towns in the state, said the state is making case for it to be considered as a power state, appealed to other communities facing the same plight of electricity supply to be patient as efforts is on by the government to address the problem.

The Governor described stable marriage and peaceful home as the cornerstone for building a strong nation, urged the newly wedded couple to stay united and be guided by love, patience and prayers.
Capt Wada described marriage institution as one that should be cherished, urged the couple to remain prayerful as marriage he noted is not a bed of roses, but assured that with prayers, patience and togetherness it can surmount all marriage challenges.

The Governor who was represented by his Deputy, Yomi Awoniyi, congratulated the couple for a new beginning and prayed God to bless the union, with fruits of the womb, good health and prosperity.

In a homely, Rev Father Sunday, Akuh, from Ankpa Parish, Idah Diocese, said the time for emphasis to be placed on ensuring that  marriage meets God’s objectives he added is now, and lamented the rate of divorce in the world,  a problem he attributed to the reason for society’s many negative social vices.

The clergyman charged the couple to strive for patience and love as some major factors to a healthy marriage and prayed God to bless the union.

In a remarks, Chief Sylvester Onoja, Chairman Teaching Service Commission and father of the bride, thanked those who attended the wedding,expressed joy for the union and prayed for a blissful marriage life for the couple.
