The Kogi State Government has reiterated its resolve towards providing water for the people of Kabba in Kabba – Bunu LGA.

Yomi Awoniyi, Kogi State Deputy Governor, made the remarks while inspecting works at the on going Kabba Township Water Scheme.

The Deputy Governor said while efforts will be made through the Federal Government to resuscitate the Omi Dam, noted that the dam has the capacity to provide water to all communities from Kabba to Egbe and Okene, but said in the interim, the State Government the Deputy Governor explained will strive to complete the Township Water Scheme to provide water to Kabba town.

Awoniyi urged Daflan Nigeria Limited, the contracting firm handling the water project to work in consonant with the Ministry of Water Resources, towards surmounting the noticed challenges that will ensure early delivery of the water project for the use of the people.

In another development, the Kogi State Deputy Governor, Yomi Awoniyi says efforts will be made to include the Omigbo Bridge, located on Kano road in the on-going construction work of the Kabba township road.

Awoniyi said the bridge was excluded from the original road design, but said the State Governor, has directed for a comprehensive design and proposal that will see to making the road and bridge motor able.

Awoniyi described the people of Kabba – Bunu LGA as very dear to the administration of Capt Idris Wada, assured of the State Government’s attention to the provision of amenities that will improve their standard of living.

In his remarks, Segun Ogbonikan, SSA1, Kabba – Bunu LGA, and Hon. Kayode Olowomoran, Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, said the water and road projects is dear to the heart of Kabba, people and appealed to government to come to their aid by ensuring its early completion.
