The federated Chapel of the NUJ, Kogi State Chapter has today Friday the 5th of February, 2016, after a congress/ Election have successfully elected its executive members to pilot the affairs of the
chapel for the next three years.

The election was monitored by the States Secretary of the Nigeria Union Of Journalist, Comrade Adeiza momoh Jimoh.

The Congress/Election have therefore produced:

1. Micheal Abu (Chairman)
2. Gideon Ayodele (Secretary)
3. Felix udebu (Treasurer)
4. Paul Omale (Asst. Secretary)
5. Musa Tanimu Nasidi (Auditor)

The newly elected executive members have immediately after inauguration assumed duty with a visit to the state NUJ Chairman, Comrade Ali Atabor, with a promise to reposition the chapel for optimum productivity.

The Chairman in his inaugural speech promised to move the chapel to the next level of development, seeking the total cooperation of the entire members, says the challenges ahead is enormous and requires all hands on deck.

He equally encouraged members to uphold the tenets  doctrines and ethics of the profession as the public would rely on them for information. Mr Abu described community newspaper as the most important bastion of information dissemination, says majority of people live in rural areas and need to be informed of activities as it relates to their existence.
