Kogi State is likely to experience another flooding this year if drainage are not properly drained of blockages.

This was part of the observations contained in a communique issued at the end of a one day forum organized by NEMA office Abuja in collaboration with the Kogi State Emergency Management Agency.

In a statement issued from the office of the Kogi State Deputy Governor and signed by Abu Micheal, the Chief Press Secretary, said though the annual rainfall prediction for the year in the state would be moderate and normal, the state he noted may be flooded if the drainage are blocked.

The state the statement disclosed would experience late onset and late cessation of rainfall in the state, added that most part of the state would experience high temperature.

While noting that the state will witness high mosquitoes bite with possible malaria prevalence, the statement appealed to farmers in the state to apply the 2015 predictions to their agricultural practices which would include both plant and animal productions.

The statement advised individuals, groups, agencies and organizations to utilize the possibility of harnessing solar energy and to also build synergy with the media in information dissemination on the NIMET predictions.

The statement appealed to citizens to take all warnings on the prediction seriously by taking cognizance of the predictions in their actions.
