The Kogi State Government has charged the contractor handling the construction of the N1.6billion Modern Motor Park in Felele area of Lokoja to increase his pace of work for early delivery of the project.

Capt Idris Wada gave the charge shortly after he inspected work on the on-going Modern Motor Park.
The Governor who was represented by his Deputy, Yomi Awoniyi, said the Motor Park is the first to be constructed by government since the creation of the State, urged the contractor to expedite work on the project and maintain the project specification.

being funded by the State Government procured bond from the capital market.

The Governor said the slow pace of work was occasioned by the delay in accessing the second tranch of the bond, henceforth assured of funding to enable the early completion of the project.

The governor assured that his administration will despite the dwindling resource accruing to the state make project that has direct bearing on the lives of its people a priority.

In a remarks, the Commissioner for Transport, Alh. Abdulrahman Wuya, said the contractor has since relocated to site with the recent release of funds, assured that efforts will be intensified to cover for the lost period, the Commissioner disclosed that the motor park when completed aside serving as a revenue earner to government will provide befitting accommodation to motorists who park on the highways.
