A Promise For You From Bible Promises:

Topic: Looking Beyond This World [25/07/2017]

These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. Hebrews 11:13. Read: Heb 11:13-16

Everything God created including the world is beautiful and all the things that dwell in it. But the scriptures teaches us that we as children of the Almighty God are not earthly but heavenly. We are just strangers and pilgrims on earth and an ambassador of our country (Heaven) to the world. When the Lord Jesus Christ was praying for His disciples (us), He said, They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. Jn 17:16. Though we’re in this world, we’re not of this world because the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. 1 Jn 2:17. Every believer must know that they are strangers here and must look beyond this passing world. Jesus did and now He is sitting on the right hand side of God. The things of this world must not be a-do-or-die affair.

The fathers of faith looked beyond this world and it was accounted of them that God was not ashamed to be called their God. Heb 11:16. Those that will live forever both in this world and the world to come must die to this passing world by looking beyond it to a heavenly city. You must die to self to live in the Spirit forever. Don’t let this world rob you of everlasting life in heaven.
