The MESSAGE:
To live a truly victorious Christian life, a clear distinction must be made between the Word of God and the world. From John 1:1-5, we understand that the Word is also the Creator and the world was the created. When Adam sinned, he lost his dominion over the world to the devil. Hence, the devil was referred to as the god of this world. The full work of salvation through Christ empowers us to recover this stolen mandate. And also, since the fall of man, the world has come to be at logger heads with the Word.
Conformity to the world brings death whereas transformation through the Word gives life. Conformity to the world brings pain; transformation through the Word is gain. Conformity to the world increases strife but transformation through the Word brings peace.
The battle between David and Goliath was a clear conflict between the Word and the world. It was a fierce contest and the battle is still on now but in a different dimension. David was a Word champion, while Goliath was a worldly champion. At the end, the Word prevailed over the world.
The sure path to victory over the worldly pressures is to allow a complete transformation through the Word. The Word is ever potent over the challenges presented by the world. The Word is a guarantee over every temptation that the world may present.
Beloved, the world is a product. The world is temporary while the Word of God is eternal. Those who become Word addict will rule and reign over those who love the world and the things in it.
