TOPIC: When The Church Prays (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Daily Devotional 25 October 2018)
FIRE SCRIPTURE: Acts 12:1-7
MEMORY VERSE: “Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:” –
James 5:14
The MESSAGE:
King Herod stretched out his hands on James, the brother of John, and killed him with the sword. Seeing that it was pleasing to the Jews, he proceeded to seize Peter. This second attempt by King Herod brought about spiritual re-awakening in the church. The church woke up from its slumber to violent, vigorous and dangerous prayers. When the church refused to pray, their general became meat for the devil and his cohorts. But when the church prayed, an angel was released by God to minister to the heirs of salvation. Chains were broken, there was light in the midst of darkness, iron gates were opened and pleasant surprises manifested.
When the church prays for a common goal by faith, situations change. It was the prayer of the church that brought the angels of deliverance who delivered Peter out of the cruel hands of the killer. Herod later died by the same angel that delivered Peter. The church made serious intercession for Peter. The secret of Peter’s deliverance is obviously the aggressive prayers of the church. The Bible says Elijah was a man like us. He held the key of heaven to rain in his pocket and released it at his word through prayer. You have the key to change situations around in your favour by praying. Be a prayer addict. Pray until something happens. Nothing works like prayer. Though other methods may fail, prayer said with unwavering faith to God in the name of Jesus always changes situations around. Your local church, house fellowship group, and the group you belong to in the church can pray unceasingly for you as well. The prayer the church makes carries power and corporate anointing. Therefore, it is important that you belong to a Bible believing church, house fellowship and group in order to grow in the Lord. Today’s Memory Verse also admonishes us to belong to the house of God. In case of emergencies, the elders in the church will pray for you and anoint you with oil in the name of Jesus. Avail yourself of the wonderful power of the church by belonging to the church.

1. Father, I thank You for creating me so special and peculiar, in the name of Jesus.
2. Anything in my life that is fake, disappear. My original, appear, in the name of Jesus.
3. Any one representing me in the kingdom of darkness and causing trouble for me in the physical, die, in Jesus’ name.
EVENING
4. Where people are falling and failing, I shall excel, in the name of Jesus.
5. I come out of the crowd who are on their way to destruction, in the name of Jesus.
6. If it is true that no one ever succeeded in my family, I shall succeed, in the name of Jesus.
7. Sickness, affliction, failure of my father’s house, hear the word of the Lord, my case is different, die, in Jesus’ name.
