MFM Mountain Top Life Daily Devotional 24 December 2018 By Dr. D.K Olukoya – Healing for the Overcharged Heart (I)

TOPIC: Healing for the Overcharged Heart (I) (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Daily Devotional 24 December 2018)

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Philippians 4:4-7

MEMORY VERSE: “And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.”Luke 11:9

The MESSAGE:

From the spiritual point of view, worry is all about wrong thinking (the mind) and wrong feeling (the heart), about circumstances, people, and things. Worry is the greatest thief of joy. Worry is an “insider’s job”, and it takes more than good intentions to get the victory. The antidote to worry is the secure mind that believes that God is able to supply all one’s needs. You need inner peace and assurance to kill your worry.

The first condition for the secure mind and victory over worry is right praying. Prayer is recommended in Luke 11:9-10 and the assurance is that God will answer when you believe Him for solution to your needs. Prayer brings the peace of God, which takes away the fiery darts of the devil. You may wonder how to pray for this peace of God which surpasses all understanding.

Paul used three different words to describe ‘right praying’: prayer, supplication, and thanksgiving. ‘Right praying’ involves all three. The word prayer is the general word for making requests known to the Lord. It carries the idea of adoration, devotion, and worship. Whenever we find ourselves worrying, our first action ought to be to get alone with God and worship Him. We must realise that He is big enough to solve our problems. Too often, we rush into His presence and hastily tell Him our needs, when we ought to approach His throne calmly and in deepest reverence. The first step in ‘right praying’ is adoration. The second is supplication, an earnest sharing of our needs and problems. Supplication is not a matter of carnal energy but of spiritual intensity (Romans 15:30). After adoration and supplication comes appreciation, giving thanks to God (Ephesians 5:20). Certainly, the Father enjoys hearing His children say, “Thank You”. When Jesus healed ten lepers, only one of them returned to give thanks (Luke 17:11-19), and we wonder if the percentage is any higher today. We are eager to ask but slow to appreciate. Paul counsels us to take “everything to God in prayer”. Paul said, “Do not worry about anything, but pray about everything! Talking to God about everything that concerns Him and us is the first step toward victory over worry. The result is that the “peace of God” guards the heart and the mind. When we gave our hearts to Christ at salvation, we experienced “peace with God” (Romans 5:1); and the “peace of God” takes us a step farther into His blessings. This does not mean the absence of trials on the outside, but it does mean a quite confidence within regardless of circumstances, people, or things. When Paul and Silas were thrust into the inner prison, their thunderous prayers and praises brought the earthquake of deliverance. This is right praying. Right praying depends on the right kind of mind –single mindedness, submissive mind, spiritual mind and a secure mind.

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE:
THE PEACE OF GOD DOES NOT MEAN THE ABSENCE OF TRIALS ON THE OUTSIDE, BUT THE PRESENCE OF A QUITE CONFIDENCE ON THE INSIDE.

Your earthquake of deliverance will manifest from your thunderous prayer and praise.
