TOPIC – The Danger Of Taking God’s Glory (4) (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Devotional 11 May 2026)

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 2 Chronicles 24, 2 Chronicles 25, 2 Chronicles 26, Luke 7, Luke 8.

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Daniel 4:28-37 (KJV)

28 All this came upon the king Nebuchadnezzar.

29 At the end of twelve months he walked in the palace of the kingdom of Babylon.

30 The king spake, and said, Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for the house of the kingdom by the might of my power, and for the honour of my majesty?

31 While the word was in the king’s mouth, there fell a voice from heaven, saying, O king Nebuchadnezzar, to thee it is spoken; The kingdom is departed from thee.

32 And they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field: they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and seven times shall pass over thee, until thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will.

33 The same hour was the thing fulfilled upon Nebuchadnezzar: and he was driven from men, and did eat grass as oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven, till his hairs were grown like eagles’ feathers, and his nails like birds’ claws.

34 And at the end of the days I Nebuchadnezzar lifted up mine eyes unto heaven, and mine understanding returned unto me, and I blessed the most High, and I praised and honoured him that liveth for ever, whose dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom is from generation to generation:

35 And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou?

36 At the same time my reason returned unto me; and for the glory of my kingdom, mine honour and brightness returned unto me; and my counsellors and my lords sought unto me; and I was established in my kingdom, and excellent majesty was added unto me.

37 Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honour the King of heaven, all whose works are truth, and his ways judgment: and those that walk in pride he is able to abase.

MEMORY VERSE: The king spake, and said, Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for the house of the kingdom by the might of my power, and for the honour of my majesty? While the word was in the king’s mouth, there fell a voice from heaven, saying, O king Nebuchadnezzar, to thee it is spoken; The kingdom is departed from thee. – Daniel 4:30-31 (KJV)

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTES: Concentrate on pleasing God instead of men to avoid God’s wrath.

PRAISE AND WORSHIP: Take praise and worship songs as led by the Holy Spirit.

PROPHETIC WORD FOR TODAY: I decree, by the power in the blood of Jesus, you shall not destroy yourself, in the name of Jesus.

MFM Devotional For Today 2026 MESSAGE:

King Nebuchadnezzar was one of the most powerful rulers of the ancient world. He had a vast kingdom. After having a dream about a great tree that was cut down, he received an interpretation from the prophet, Daniel. The interpretation revealed that Nebuchadnezzar’s pride would lead him to a place where God would humble him, causing him to lose his mind and live as a wild animal for seven years. But before this, King Nebuchadnezzar, in his pride, boasted about his greatness, claiming that his power and kingdom were the result of his might and wisdom. He failed to acknowledge that it was God who gave him the power. God humbled him by causing him to lose his sanity for a period of time, during which he lived like an animal.

Nebuchadnezzar’s arrogance in taking credit for God’s blessings was a dangerous move. His temporary insanity was a humbling experience, leading him to finally recognise that God alone is sovereign over all powers. Before the judgement of God came upon him, he boasted of his achievements, saying, “Is not this great Babylon that I have built for the house of the kingdom by the might of my power, and for the honour of my majesty?” (Daniel 4:30). What arrogance! His failure to recognise God as the ultimate source of his power and success led to God’s anger and instant judgement. The opulence and grandeur of his kingdom got into his head, and the forgot that there is a supreme being that created him. Beloved, no matter who you are and what you have, as long as you were created, you must give the praise and glory to the One who created you – The Almighty God. King Nebuchadnezzar’s temporary insanity was a humbling experience that made him finally acknowledge God’s supreme authority.
