MFM Devotional For Today 2023 MESSAGE:
Among the armour pieces mentioned in Ephesians 6:13-17, the Sword of the Spirit is the piece that is both defensive and offensive in nature.
As Christians, we are not to wait till the enemy brings the fight to us. We are to be proactive, ensuring that God’s will stands always. It is better to prevent a problem than to try to solve it, as is commonly said, “prevention is better than cure.”

Jesus adopted the offensive nature of the Sword when he chased out the people selling things at the temple. He stood on the word of God that was written: “My house shall be called a house of prayer” (Isaiah 56:7) and He effected the necessary change. Similarly, you are to chase out of your life, using the word of God as your guide, anything that does not glorify God.
The Sword of the Spirit has been given to us as an offensive weapon, but until you take it up and use it, you will continue to be a prey in the hands of the enemy. You will master the use of the sword of the spirit by studying God’s word daily and applying it to every area of your life.
Beloved, to be a Christian is to be a warrior. God has graciously provided us with the sword of the spirit, the word of God, to take the offensive against the enemy and his cohorts. Take the Sword of the Spirit and cut down every evil tree that is growing in your life. Use it to destroy the works of satan and enforce God’s dominion here on earth. It is your weapon of unchallengeable victory.

MORNING
- I thank You, Lord, for always being faithful to Your word.
- Thank You for Your word that gives us life.
- I am the battle axe of the Lord, and so I break in pieces every structure against the will of God.
EVENING
- Thank You Lord for Your word that guides my steps.
- My ears and heart are opened to receive God’s word appropriate for every phase of my life, in the name of Jesus.
- I put my flesh under the subjection of the Holy Spirit as I obey God’s word, in the name of Jesus.
- Thy word, O Lord, is settled concerning my life and family, in the name of Jesus.
