BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Proverbs 7-9
FIRE SCRIPTURE: 2 Peter 1:3-12; Matthew 5:13-16
2 Peter 1:3-12 (KJV)
3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;
7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9 But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.
10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:
11 For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
12 Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though ye know them, and be established in the present truth.
Matthew 5:13-16 (KJV)
13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.

TODAY, THE GRACE TO BECOME A SPIRITUALLY DEEPER CHRISTIAN IS GIVEN TO YOU, IN THE NAME OF JESUS.
The MESSAGE:
A deeper Christian life is a life that has a deep relationship with Jesus and is transformed through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. The deeper Christian life is the life that is totally yielded to Christ and is averse to the things of the world and its system. The deeper Christian life is the life that is built around Jesus. The focus is removed from self and placed on Jesus. It is the life that will never compromise with the world.

When we are born again, we receive God’s life and have the privilege of sharing in His nature and are able to conform to His character and standard of holiness. According to 2 Peter 1:4, we are also able to escape the corruption of the world that is caused by evil desires. Then we are empowered to live the way God wants us to live so that our lives can be a true reflection of His own character and attributes and thereby attract others to His marvellous grace (Philippians 2:15).
The deeper Christian life is a life of submission and humility. Is your life a true reflection of God’s character? How is your relationship with others at work and at home? God expects us to be more like Him so that we can win others to Him. Jesus said, “If I be lifted up from the earth, I will draw all men unto me” (John 12:32). We can only accomplish this when we live the deeper Christian life.
A life that is dented to holiness, studying and living God’s word, fasting and praying as well as evangelising will make you a deeper Christian.
PRAYER POINTS:
MORNING
- My Father, I want more of You, in the name of Jesus.
- Anything standing between me and God, die, in the name of Jesus.
- Spiritual pollution and contamination in my life, die, in the name of Jesus.
EVENING
- Anything that is not of God in my life, die, in the name of Jesus.
- Power to be alone with God and to receive more of Him, come upon me, in the name of Jesus.
- Holy Ghost fire, purge my life, in the name of Jesus.
- Jesus, the Yoke Breaker, break my yokes and set me free, in the name of Jesus.
