1 Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.
2 It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.
3 Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.
4 As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.

MFM Devotional For Today 2023 MESSAGE:
Yesterday, we established the fact that without giving God a place of pre-eminence in our lives, we would not achieve anything tangible and meaningful. God is the Source of life and the Giver of every good and perfect gift. In case you have been running your life without Him, I advise you to turn s new leaf today. Once you invite Him into your life and make Him your all in all, you will experience a beautiful turnaround in your situation.

Let us examine some Bible characters who face very precarious life situations but got miraculous turnarounds because they allowed God to build their lives and destinies. The first person in this category was Jabez. He was born in sorrow and his life was characterised by pain and shame. However, the Bible says that Jabez prayed to the Master builder, the God of Israel and the Great Potter. He asked that God would bless him indeed. The God of Israel answered him. He requested that God’s hand and power would be on him. His request was granted. He also asked that God should enlarge his coast. Jehovah granted that request too. Finally, he asked that God would take pain and anguish far away from him. That too was granted, and Jabez became more honourable than all his brethren. Why? He cast his burden upon the Master builder, the God of Israel. I encourage you to imitate Jabez today.
The second Bible character who trusted the God of Israel and Master builder was Hannah. It was God who shut her womb. She was wise to have trusted God.
in her situation. Hannah’s co-wife, Peninah, mocked and taunted her daily, yet she kept talking to God about her situation and was never absent in Shiloh. She recognised God as the God of all possibilities and chose to trust absolutely in Him. It was the Spirit of God that moved Hannah to make a vow and for Eli to notice her and pray for her. God answered her prayer, opened her womb and the one who was once barren became a mother of five children. Why? It was because she gave His pre-eminence in her life and situation. She trusted the Great Potter and Master builder and she got miracles and great joy.
Beloved, is life difficult and harsh to you? Are you faced with a knotty challenge and seemingly unsurmountable issues? Perhaps, it is because you have been trusting in the arm of the flesh or leaning on your own understanding. As Jabez and Hannah did, I counsel you to turn to God for help and cast your burden upon Him. Pray without ceasing with great faith in your heart. As He answered Jabez and Hannah, and turned their situations around for good, He will answer you and give you a new song to sing, I’m Jesus’ name.
PRAYER POINTS:
MORNING
- Father, help me to always trust You, in the name of Jesus.
- Father, I give You pre-eminence in all areas of my life, in the name of Jesus.
- The Reversed of the Irreversible, appear and turn my night to day, in the name of Jesus.
EVENING
- Arise, O God, and answer me as You answered Jabez, in the name of Jesus.
- Arise, O God, and answer me as You answered Hannah, in the name of Jesus.
- Father, let Your river of joy flow ceaselessly into my life, in the name of Jesus.
- My door of total fulfilment, open by fire, in the name of Jesus.
