27 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness.

11 But when Peter was come to Antioch, I withstood him to the face, because he was to be blamed.
12 For before that certain came from James, he did eat with the Gentiles: but when they were come, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing them which were of the circumcision.
13 And the other Jews dissembled likewise with him; insomuch that Barnabas also was carried away with their dissimulation.

The MESSAGE:
Today’s topic for your devotion is a serious food for your constant meditation because God always exposes the works of darkness with His light. The second reason is that the depth of satan is wrapped up in deception. God hates liars and has reserved hell fire for them.

The Jews have a wise saying, “Truth is heavy: only a few men can carry it.” Jesus used the term “Whited Sepulchre” to refer to the conduct of the Pharisees of the time of His earthly ministry. This is a very strong negative symbolic analysis of someone who is supposed to be a child of God. There is an understanding that the word “Pharisee” has two words: ‘far’ and ‘see’. The Pharisees are ‘far seers’. This means, they do not have the grasp of the truth of God. They act the truth but do not live in the truth. They are hypocrites. The Greek meaning of hypocrite is ‘actor’. Jesus knew that they were “actors” and that explains why He reserved very strong condemnation for their evil ways, especially because they were leaders.
Who is a whited sepulchre? The following list will shed light on the issue: someone who is inwardly corrupt or wicked but displays an outward good face, someone who does not know the ways of God, but pretends to know them, someone whose rottenness smells before God but uses strong perfume (deception) to hide it from unsuspecting people around them, someone who is supposed to be a child of God but is a child of the devil over and again, someone who leads people to hellfire from the gates of the church, a spiritual leader who understands the depth of satan and is using this evil knowledge in the church to steal, kill and to destroy.
God hates hypocrites in the church to no end because they misrepresent Him. They are neither cold nor hot; they are boastful, showy, arrogant and spiritually filthy. God says He will spew them from His mouth. This shall not be your portion by His grace.
PRAYER POINTS:
MORNING
- O Lord, mould me into Your desirable vessel of honour, in the name of Jesus.
- I shall not be an example of ministerial failure, in the name of Jesus.
- Blood of Jesus, cleanse me and make me whole before my God, in the name of Jesus.
EVENING
- I shall sleep and wake up in the likeness of my Maker all the days of my life, in the name of Jesus.
- O God, separate me from the wickedness of my father’s house so that I can serve Your purpose in my life, in the name of Jesus.
- Any power assigned to lead me to hellfire, die, in the name of Jesus.
- O God, arise for me and uphold my journey with You to the end, in the name of Jesus.
