TOPIC: That I May Know Him (Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministries Thursday, 2 August 2018)
FIRE SCRIPTURE: Philippians 3:10-14

The MESSAGE:
The first major step in knowing Jesus is through salvation. Thereafter, you begin a walk with Him to get closer and know Him intimately as a very close dear friend. When you become intimate with Jesus, then you shall be able to hear His voice and obey His commands. He will then walk with you, work with you, and work through you. This is a life transforming experience as Paul experienced after his miraculous conversion.
When Paul became a Christian, it was not the end for him, but the beginning. His experience with Christ was so tremendous that it transformed his life. And this experience continued in the years to follow. It was a personal experience as he walked with Christ, prayed, obeyed His will, diligently studied the Scriptures, engaged in continuous evangelism, and sought to glorify His name everywhere he went. When he was living under the law, all Paul had was a set of rules. But now, he has a Friend, a Master, and a constant Companion. It was also a painful experience, but he knew that it was a privilege to suffer for Christ (Philippians 1:29-30). In fact, suffering had been a part of his experience from the very beginning (Acts 9:16). As we grow in our knowledge of Christ and our experience of His power, we come under the attack of the enemy. Paul had been a persecutor at one time, but he learned what it means to be persecuted. But it was worth it. For walking with Christ was also a practical experience. Paul lived for Christ because he died to self as he took up his cross daily and followed Him. The result of this death was a spiritual resurrection (Philippians 3:11) that caused Paul to walk “in newness of life” (Romans 6:4). Now is a good time for you to consider your relationship with Jesus. Is it a surface thing or is it deep enough that can boldly say that you know Him? If you draw closer to Him, you will recognise His voice easily. If He is dear to you, you will follow Him wherever He is leading you. Whether to a city or remote village through evangelism, it will not matter to you.
When you draw near to Him, He will also draw near to you and the relationship will be more intimate. You will no longer be just a servant but would be addressed as friend, like He called His disciples. If you hold on to Him faithfully to the end, you will reap the benefit of eternal life. The ball is in your court. Take up your cross daily and follow Him. Walk daily with Christ, engage in ceaseless prayers, obey His will, diligently study the Scriptures, engage in continuous evangelism and seek to glorify the name of Jesus everywhere you go. May the Lord empower you to give all it takes to remain by His side always, in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

6. O God my Father, give me the old time religion and fresh revival fire, in the name of Jesus.
7. Spirit of destruction, I bind and cast you out of my life, in the name of Jesus.
