TOPIC: Faith Challenges (Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministries Friday, 3 August 2018)
FIRE SCRIPTURE: Daniel 3:13-15
MEMORY VERSE: “Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.” – Mark 9:23
The MESSAGE:
A time usually comes when the believer would face open confrontation and harassment capable of violently shaking his faith. A time will come when the best of your loyalty and commitment to Jesus is no longer subtle but aggressively violent. A time will come when the alternative offered to you is an expressway to hell fire. Should you choose to dance to the tune of your challenges? A time comes when you are required within a split of second to either say yes or no to Jesus. What would you do in such a situation that no man could neither predict nor adequately prepare for? Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego had just been made governors in Babylon by king Nebuchadnezzar, who on his own volition declared to Daniel: “Of a truth it is, that your God is a God of gods, and a Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets.” What a powerful confession from a heathen king! While the young men were still trying to settle down to enjoy their new status, a satanic plot was carried out against them, using the same king who promoted them as instrument of oppression, harassment and intimidation. Who would have imagined such a sudden change in the king’s attitude? This was a situation the young men never imagined but thank God they were spiritually prepared for it.
The options before them were limited. The time to think it through was non-existent. It was either they forsook God or embraced the fiery furnace. What a dilemma! Jesus said in Matthew 16:24-26: “If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?”
The above Scripture clearly explains the prompt response of the three young Hebrews in Daniel 3:16-18: “O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter. If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.” In this encounter, a daring challenge was confronted by a daring rebuff. This is the spirit of the overcomers in the faith. It is only those who have reached the spiritual level of ‘If I perish, I perish, but I shall not deny Jesus’ that will be able to overcome. Only those who exercise daily rulership over the flesh and have completely sold their lives to Jesus can overcome such a challenge of faith. The heathen shall rage, but God shall laugh them to scorn. The way out is daily spiritual preparation.
The challenge of faith may not only come in the way it happened to Esther, Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego, etc but may be subtle enticement to unconsciously deny Jesus. It may be a camouflage package to compromise your Christian virtues and give occasion to the enemy to profane the name of the Lord. Whenever anything happens that challenges your right standing with God, your faith is being put to test and the answer is daily spiritual preparation to navigate through your unguarded hour. Watch and pray. May the Lord deliver us in the day of trouble, in Jesus’ name.

5. O God, arise and let every challenger of my faith scatter unto desolation, in the name of Jesus.
6. I declare unto myself, forward ever with Jesus, backward never, in the name of Jesus.
7. Holy Spirit, incubate me daily with fresh fire, in the name of Jesus.
