TOPIC: Forget Not (Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministries Friday, 20 July 2018)
FIRE SCRIPTURE: Isaiah 43: 14-21
MEMORY VERSE: “Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:” – Psalms 103:2
The MESSAGE:
Memory is one of God’s greatest endowments to human beings. However, our memory can either be a great asset to us or a liability. We are prone to remember what we should forget and forget what we should remember. What a paradox!
In the Scriptures, God tells us what we should always remember and what we should always forget. Remember God and His goodness in your life, and be thankful to Him. Most people usually complain about their troubles in life. They ruminate on the unpleasant memories they have had, and are quick to forget God’s goodness and faithfulness. No matter what transpired in your life, last year, the truth is that God is always good to you. It could have been worse but for GOD! The very fact that you are alive to see the New Year testifies to that song writer’s counsel:
Count your blessings one by one and you will be surprised what the Lord has done.
So if God wants you to always remember His mighty and glorious acts in your life, what does He want you to forget? He wants you to forget the former things or the things of old like past events that caused you pain and agony. God expects you to look forward to new things He will do for you in the year. In His power, He mightily delivered the Israelites from Egypt and took them to the land flowing with milk and honey. The problems of the Israelites were not their allegiance to God, but their living in the past instead of the present. To live in the past is disabling; it means you can never be satisfied with today. It also stops you from seeing what God is doing, or hearing what God is saying right now. And this is very dangerous in all ramifications. Therefore, stop living in the past. Forget your past sins and shortcomings. If you have repented of them, God has forgiven you and there is no condemnation to those in Christ Jesus. Forget your past failures as well. Stop dwelling on your failures and reviving their memories, they will stifle your confidence in God, and impede your progress in Life. Besides, forget your past success and joys. To dwell constantly on your past achievements may engender pride and make you complacent in life’s journey and destiny. Thus, God wants you to bring your worries, expectations and aspirations to Him this year and He will give you a new beginning. The wonders of God in your life this year will be nothing compared to even your successes last year. So, leave the past behind and start over with Him afresh. Lean solely on Him and you shall have a last laugh like Sarah in the Bible.

MORNING
1. O Lord, put upon me the garment of Praise, in the name of Jesus.
2. Every spirit of heaviness in my life, come out and die, in the name of Jesus.
3. Every form of bad memory assigned against my spiritual growth, die totally, in the name of Jesus.
EVENING
4. Fire of the God of Elijah, possess my inner man now, in the name of Jesus.
5. Creator of heaven and earth, arise and do something new in my life, in the name of Jesus.
6. Spirit of fear assigned and programmed against my shining glory, die, in the name of Jesus.
7. God of Elijah, put upon me the garment of power and fire, in the name of Jesus.
