TOPIC: Dealing With Emotions (Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministries Wednesday, 25 April 2018)
FIRE SCRIPTURE: Ephesians 4:17-26
MEMORY VERSE:
“For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.” – Hebrews 4:15
The MESSAGE:
Your emotions are a critical part of you because they are expressions flowing from our hearts in response to circumstances of life and situations, thereby showing what you value and what your heart is passionate for. What you value is what you’ll be emotional about. If you really don’t value that item, even if it is taken, you won’t feel it.
Happiness, anger, hurt, etc are examples of emotions. It is good to know that the natural man’s emotions are primarily a function of natural and external circumstances. For example, he just got a car and he is happy. A boy has a crush on her and she’s filled with happiness. He just got cash and he’s happy. He lost his phone and he is angry and sad, etc. However as a believer, your emotions ought not to be based on natural circumstances but on the Lord Jesus. The Scripture says, we ought to respond by faith and not by sight. Your joy and happiness shouldn’t come from natural things but from the Lord alone (Psalm 27:4). Your only crave and passion should be from the Lord. Your joy should come from Him alone. A man whose emotions are based on earthly circumstances will always be unstable. He is sad today, happy tomorrow, etc like a troubled sea, but one whose passion is only the Lord will be at rest even during the storm.
You ought to bring your emotions under the Lord through the help of the Spirit, every moment and season, till your emotions have been fully purified and cleansed by the Lord.

He who is moved by emotion will be enslaved by emotion, but he who learns to control his emotions will rule wisely.
PROPHETIC WORD:
I decree into your life today that divine emotional intelligence will come upon you.
PRAYER POINTS:
MORNING
1. Lord Jesus, make me a man/woman of the spirit, in Jesus’ name.
2. Emotional hindrances to my breakthrough, give way by fire, in the mighty name of Jesus.
3. Lord Jesus, remove my heart of stone and give me a heart of flesh, in Jesus’ name.
EVENING
4. I untie, whoever I have tied up in my heart, in the name of Jesus.
5. I recover everything I have lost due to unforgiveness, in Jesus’ name.
6. Holy Spirit of God, give me the grace to forgive those who have offended me and forget their wrong, in Jesus’ name.
7. Spirit of love, my life is available, enter, in the name of Jesus.
