Memorise: And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word. 1 Kings 18:21

Bible Reading: Revelation 3:15-16

  1. I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: l would thou wert cold or hot.
  2. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.

Bible Reading In One Year: Psalms 142-144; 1 Corinthians 10:14-33

MESSAGE:

God knows those that are His and those that are the devils. His love is guaranteed for those that are His children but those that are not for God are automatically for the world and hence, have no place in Him. In today’s Bible reading, God reveals His hatred for those who are neither cold nor hot. If a fellow is hot for God, God will help him to sustain that position, and if a fellow is cold, God can work on him to become hot. But if a fellow is lukewarm, God says He will spew the fellow out of His mouth.

ln the days of Elijah, people claimed to love God, but they still accommodated the worship of Baal. God frowned at it, and so did Elijah. These days, people go to church and still use charms. Some still watch masquerades, dance with masquerades or give money to them. God is not pleased with such. In serving God, you can’t sit on the fence, neither can you be indifferent about some things God is against. You are either totally for God or for the devil. The best decision you will ever make is to be on the side of God.

Key Point:

No one can serve two masters. Who do you serve?

Hymn: Stand Up! Stand Up For Jesus

  1. Stand up! stand up for Jesus,
    Ye soldiers of the Cross!
    Lift high His royal banner;
    It must not suffer loss.
    From vict’ry unto vict’ry
    His army shall He lead,
    Till every foe is vanquished,
    And Christ is Lord indeed.
  2. Stand up! stand up for Jesus,
    The trumpet call obey;
    Forth to the mighty conflict,
    In this His glorious day;
    Ye that are men now serve Him
    Against unnumbered foes;
    Let courage rise with danger,
    And strength to strength oppose.
  3. Stand up! stand up for Jesus!
    Stand in His strength alone;
    The arm of flesh will fail you,
    Ye dare not trust your own:
    Put on the gospel armour,
    And watching unto prayer;
    Where duty calls, or danger,
    Be never wanting there.
  4. Stand up! stand up for Jesus!
    The strife will not be long;
    This day the noise of battle,
    The next the victor’s song;
    To him that overcometh,
    A crown of life shall be;
    He with the King of glory
    Shall reign eternally.
