DEEPER CHRISTIAN LIFE MINISTRY
END OF THE MONTH NATIONAL GS MESSAGE BROADCAST DECEMBER 2018 EDITION
SUNDAY WORSHIP SERVICE, 30TH DECEMBER, 2018
TOPIC: THE NEW BENEFICIARIES OF THE OLD, INEXHAUSTIBLE PROVISION
TEXT: LEVITICUS 26:10-13
MINISTER: PASTOR W.F KUMUYI (LIVE FROM GBAGADA LAGOS, HQ)

“And ye shall eat old store, and bring forth the old because of the new” (Leviticus 26:10). Notice the two words there, the old and the new. Here is the provision, promise and prophetic utterance of the Lord, that you shall eat the old store, you will not cast out or abandon the old store.

We are going into the new year but we will not abandon our old building in which we are living, but we may renovate, paint and make it better and new.

Same applies to our bodies. It is the same bodies we are carrying into the new year. In the new year, we can make them healthier, happier and stronger, we will not abandon them.

The same family we had in the old year we carry into the new year. We might renew our covenants and relationships, we can make better provision for the family members, but we will not change it.

We will never abandon our conversion, consecration and commitment of the old year but we will them carry into the new year. We just make them better, higher and stronger.

The same God of the old is the God of the new. He will lead us higher as He helps us to build on the old. Leviticus 26:12-13 We will not forget the old covenant we had with the Lord. vs 13. It is the same God taking us into the new year, He has broken our yokes and removed our burdens.

The same feet with which we walked uprightly in the old year are the same we will walk with in the new year. So also we keep well all those things we received at the retreat. We must not have the erroneous idea that all the messages of the retreat are gone. No. We keep them, not losing any of them.

Matthew 13:51-52. Telling us of regaining and keeping all the treasures of the word of God we have received, even into new year. So, we bring forth together the old and the new year.

The persecutors and oppressors of old year are not dead with the old year. They are still there. The more reason why we carry our faith, fortitude, courage, conviction and consecration into the new year and thrash any of them that come our way.

Galatians 4:28-29. Isaac was in the old testament, while we are in the new. The persecutors of the past will not be different, but we will have new strength to engage them. We will surprise them all. We will be strong and resolute. We will overcome every battle, persecution, etc. New strength, new anointing and new power for us all.

1. BELIEVING THE OLD PROMISES FOR NEW PILGRIMS

We need to understand that the old testament people were referred to as pilgrims and strangers. Just like us, we are going from earth to the heavenly kingdom.

Hebrews 11:13 Believers were called strangers and pilgrims, I Peter 2:11.

What were the experiences of the people of old that gave them confidence, strength, and helped them to stand till the end?

LOOKING AT THE PROMISES OF THE OLD CARRIED INTO THE NEW:
Salvation from God and God alone. They needed to look away from their idols and religion. Isaiah 45:22; Acts 4:12; Psalm 130:8; Titus 2:14. The saints of old were redeemed from all their inquiries.

Exodus 32:33. Whosoever goes back into sin He will blot out of His book.

Revelation 3:5. Whosoever overcomes, his name shall not be blotted out.

Exodus 15:26. He is the LORD that heals us

James 5:15-16. When you have pain and oppression in the body, think through, because sin and sickness go together, so also sin and suffering. After discovering your fault, make amends by repenting and asking for forgiveness. It is important to confess our faults one to another. After this, we ask for healing.

Job 5:19. God shall deliver us from six troubles, in seven ways will evil not touch us.

II Timothy 4:18: God will deliver us from every evil work.

2 Chronicles 1:7,10. God told Solomon to ask what he wanted.
In the new testament, Jesus told us to ask, seek, and knock, and we shall receive. Solomon asked for wisdom and he got it, and so much more. James 1:5.

In this new year, all the grace we require to live a victorious lives shall be given to us.

Psalm 57:2. God performs all things for us.

Matthew 6:33. While we seek the kingdom of God, every other thing shall be added into us.

Romans 8:32. He will freely give us all things, just as He did not spare His Son, Jesus.

WATCHWORD FOR YEAR 2019: “ALL THINGS”

2. BRINGING THE OLD PRICE FOR A NEW PROGRESS

It is normal and legitimate to desire progress. But progress do not just come. There is a price to pay. II Samuel 24:24. For every blessing we desire, there is a price to pay.

Some say, PRAYER IS THE KEY, ignoring the aspect of price and sacrifice. Some say to their leaders, speak the word of prophecy in my life with no readiness to abandon sin, idolatry and careless living. Their religion, prayer, service cost them nothing. Whereas, David says He would not give to God any sacrifice that will cost him nothing.

Matthew 13:44-45. The kingdom of God must be precious to us. Christianity, following God, serving God and making heaven at last are not cheap, there are prices to pay.

Acts 19:18. Despite the great price, these new converts in this text burnt all the possessions and materials that had to do with the devil. They did not sell them to others in order to recoup their money, but they dispose of them all.

A store full of alcoholic and intoxicating drinks, you must dispose of them all, losing all the money. Such business must stop immediately after conversion.

  • Ungodly, seductive and provocative wears, either on personal or business quantity, all must be disposed of.
  • Books of erroneous preachers in our custody, regardless of the cost, after conversion, must be burnt.
  • Inheritance from our parents that have to do with occultism must be disposed of, no matter how costly they are.

Acts 19:18-19

  • And many that believed came, and confessed, and shewed their deeds.
  • Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men: and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver.
These newly-converted brethren BURNT all the evil materials in their possession before all the people, that is, publicly.

Any evil act like signing of fraudulent documents for personal gains or in assistance to others must stop immediately after conversion.

WE WILL NOT OBEY SATAN, OR ANY OF HIS HUMAN AGENTS

I Cor 6:19-20. Our bodies are the temple of the Holy Ghost. We must not be afraid, or shaky, we must remember Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. They did not shake in the face of stiff opposition, even death. Afterwards, they were promoted for standing for God’s honour.

We will never walk to, or drive anywhere that will not glorify God. We will not be involved in any occultic things.

I AM FOLLOWING CHRIST

WE ARE FOLLOWING CHRIST

We will not use our eyes to look at things that will defile us, either in real life or on the internet. Any time any ungodly thing pops up on our devices, we will quickly discard them, we will not secretly indulge in them, we must be resolute against sin, I Cor 7:23.

As a servant in the house, After conversion, you will not run damnable errands like going to call a married woman for your boss. You will turn such assignment down outrightly. You will not aid or abet adultery, even at the risk of losing your job.

Psalm 4:3; Revelation 4:11. God has set us apart and created all things for Himself and His glory.

3. BENEFITING FROM THE OLD PRIVILEGES AS NEW, PECULIAR PEOPLE

Obeying and doing all that God commanded, Exodus 19:3-8. A believer should be peculiar, anywhere he finds himself. We do not act, conduct weddings, or react to issues the way unbelievers do. We must be truthful in signing the time register at work, we write the exact time we get to the office.

1 Peter 2:9. We must always bear in mind that we are peculiar people.

Deuteronomy 14:2. We are holy people into the Lord. We may be seen as odd, but we should know we are doing what God has chosen us for – showing forth His glory.

ch 26:18-19. As peculiar people, we must keep all His commandment. Other churches might compromise and open their doors to accommodate more members, we as a peculiar people must not do this. We must not make allowances for sin.

Job 36:11
If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.
In this new year, our lives shall blossom to the glory of God. He will prosper all the works of our hands.

Isaiah 1:19. If we are willing and obedient to God, we will eat the good of the land.

I Peter 1:14-16. As obedient children, our standard of living will not be like that of the world. We will be holy as He who has called us is holy.

What Are We To Expect This Year?

Exceeding great, and precious promises. II Peter 1:3-4; I Kings 8:56.

Deuteronomy 33:25-29:
25 Thy shoes shall be iron and brass; and as thy days, so shall thy strength be.

26 There is none like unto the God of Jeshurun, who rideth upon the heaven in thy help, and in his excellency on the sky.

27 The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy them.

28 Israel then shall dwell in safety alone: the fountain of Jacob shall be upon a land of corn and wine; also his heavens shall drop down dew.

29 Happy art thou, O Israel: who is like unto thee, O people saved by the LORD, the shield of thy help, and who is the sword of thy excellency! and thine enemies shall be found liars unto thee; and thou shalt tread upon their high places.

The eternal God is our refuge, underneath us are His everlasting arms. Amen and Amen.

PRAYER:

May God Almighty keep us holy, righteous and serving Him in the new year. May He grant us the grace to never look back or compromise.

As for our FATHER in the Lord, may God keep him waxing stronger spiritually and physically. More grace and anointing to him in Jesus name, Amen and Amen.

More grace and heart of OBEDIENCE to God’s Word ALWAYS.

AMEN!!!
