Ooni of Ife visits Awujale of Ijebuland for the first time in 75 years [Photos]

The new Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, on Friday paid a historic visit to the Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona at his Palace in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State.

The visit ended 75 years of rivalry between the two monarchs. According to the Awujale, the last time a peace meeting like this happened was in 1941 and the 1st meeting was in Oyo in 1937.

The visit was aimed at promoting unity among Yoruba monarchs.
