Factional leader of the Odua People’s Congress (OPC), Gani Adams, has said the Yoruba socio-cultural organization is throwing its weight behind President Goodluck Jonathan’s re-election bid having found in him a better candidate with the right temperament and capabilities worthy of upholding the unity of the country given its diversity and transforming its economy to the betterment of the citizens.

Adams, who spoke to aviation correspondents at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, at the weekend, said an honest study conducted by the group showed that, placed side by side, the incumbent President had more character and leadership qualities to continue leading the country than the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari.

Adams said courage or might and honesty, as many campaigners had consistently pointed out as the greatest virtues of Buhari which the country required does not make a total leader, especially where humility was not also an inherent virtue of such a person.

Adams described as the greatest depiction of hypocrisy the castigation of Jonathan as a leader condoning corruption by the APC, noting that each time he watched the APC rallies on TV and some of the governors coming out to speak about corruption, he was usually worried how true Buhari’s portrayal as anti-corrupt could be when he was surrounded by corrupt persons.
