TOPIC: A Second Chance? [Open Heaven for Teens 1 July 2022]

MEMORISE: Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy. Micah 7:18

READ: Micah 7:18-19

  1. Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy.
  2. He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Acts 10:1-48 , Job 21-22

MESSAGE:

God’s love for His children will never make Him turn His back on them when they return in true repentance after committing a sin. Unfortunately, some children of God remain in their sinful state and refuse to rise. The fact that you fell once does not mean you should not rise, it does not mean God does not love you anymore. He is gracious in mercy.

Have you gone far from God for any reason? He wants you back, He wants to give you a second chance. Please make use of this opportunity and don’t drift away any further. In Luke 15:17-20 , the prodigal son realized that he was living a miserable life. He imagined his fathers servant in a better position than he, so he repented, returned to his father, asked for forgiveness and got his life restored to royalty. I encourage you to come back to God if you have drifted from Him. In Christ is the safest place to be, no matter what you have done in life to hurt God or anyone or how far you have gone. Seize this moment and ask for mercy. God is faithful and just to pardon you.

PRAYER POINT

Father, please restore me to a place of fellowship with You.

HYMN: Just As I Am

  1. Just as I am, without one plea,
but that Thy blood was shed for me,
and that Thou bidst me come to Thee,
Oh Lamb of God, I come, I come.
  2. Just as I am, and waiting not
to rid my soul of one dark blot,
to Thee, whose blood can cleanse each spot,
Oh Lamb of God, I come, I come.
  3. Just as I am, though tossed about
with many a conflict, many a doubt,
    fightings and fears within, without,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.
  4. Just as I am poor, wretched, blind
Sight, riches, healing of the mind
Yea, all I need, in Thee to find
Oh Lamb of God I come,
  5. Just as I am, Thou wilt receive,
    wilt welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve;
    because Thy promise I believe,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.
  6. Just as I am Thy love unknown
    Has broken every barrier down;
Now to be Thine, yea Thine alone,
Oh Lamb of God I come, I come.
  7. Just as I am, of that free love,
    The breadth, length, depth and
    height to prove,
Here for a season, then above,
Oh Lamb of God I come, I come.
