BIBLE READING: Matthew 5:23-24

23 Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;

24 Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.

MESSAGE:

Some teenagers do not see any reason to apologise when they are wrong. Some of them have developed a bad attitude that has become part of them, and they see nothing wrong with any of their actions or words. Saying “sorry” when you are wrong isn’t just a polite phrase; it’s a bridge to healing and restoration.

Today’s Bible reading shows that God values mended relationships even more than rituals of worship. A sincere apology goes beyond just saying words; it also requires acknowledging what you did, expressing regret, and taking steps to make things right. For example, when apologising about your wrongs, instead of saying, “Sorry if you were offended,” try saying, “I’m sorry for what I said. I was wrong, and I’ll do better next time.” This approach shows that you understand the impact of your actions and words, and that you are committed to making a change.

My dear child, apologising for your wrongs is not a sign of weakness, but rather a sign of humility. It shows that you value people and relationships enough to admit that you’re wrong. Be intentional about apologizing whenever you are in the wrong.

REFLECTION:
Send a sincere apology to anyone you may have offended.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
