MESSAGE:

At a gathering of fellow wives of General Overseers, I said that I pray always. After the message, some of them asked me, Is it possible to pray always, especially when one has a busy schedule coupled with the task of raising children? I responded by telling them, It is possible.

When my children were much younger, while bathing them, I would pray for them. While they were eating, I would pray for them; even while working, I would be praying, so long as I didn’t have to use my lips to do the work.

If the Bible says pray without ceasing, it means it is possible. Show me a person that lived a life of prayer and I will show you a giant in the realm of the Spirit. The erroneous belief people have about prayer is that, one must be in a secluded place, kneel and close ones eyes before one can pray. Well, that is good and necessary at least once a day, but if you want to pray in that manner and cease not, then you would do nothing else throughout your lifetime. The best way to pray without ceasing is to pray in the Spirit when you are not working with your mouth. This will keep you from frivolous activities.

KEY POINT:

You can pray without ceasing by praying in tongues.

HYMN: Pass Me Not A Gentle Saviour

  1. Pass me not, O gentle Saviour,
    Hear my humble cry,
    While on others Thou art calling,
    Do not pass me by.

CHORUS
Saviour, Saviour,
Hear my humble cry;
While on others Thou art calling,
Do not pass me by.

  1. Let me at Thy throne of mercy
    Find a sweet relief;
    Kneeling there in deep contrition,
    Help my unbelief.
  2. Trusting only in Thy merit,
    Would I seek Thy face;
    Heal my wounded, broken spirit,
    Save me by Thy grace.
  3. Thou the Spring of all my comfort,
    More than life to me,
    Whom have I on earth beside Thee?
    Whom in heaven but Thee?
