BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: John 6:1-71, 2 Kings 15-17

MESSAGE:

To be meek is to be mild or gentle; meekness doesn’t suggest weakness, rather, it shows that one is able to bring his strength under control. It is easier for a poor or oppressed teenager to be submissive as a result of his/her state but the true nature of an individual will become visible to all when he/she is rich or in power. For instance, Jesus was meek. His nature of meekness became evident when He left His glory above and became human. He lived like us and eventually died on the cross for us. At the point of death, He could have called on legions of angels to come to His rescue, yet, he did not do that.

If you are meek, you will be willing to share and sacrifice on behalf of others. When people offend you, you will not seek to revenge or show that you have power. When in a position of authority, you will not trample on the rights of others for any reason, you will be full of compassion and bear the burdens of others through prayers and sacrificial giving. Are you meek like Jesus?

PRAYER POINT:

Father, please give me the spirit of meekness.

HYMN: LET OTHERS SEE JESUS IN YOU

  1. While passing through this
    world of sin,
    And others your life shall view,
    Be clean and pure without, within,
    Let others see Jesus in you.

CHORUS
Let others see Jesus in you,
Let others see Jesus in you;
Keep telling the story, be faithful and true,
Let others see Jesus in you.

  1. Your life’s a book before their eyes,
    They’re reading it through and through;
    Say, does it point them to the skies,
    Do others see Jesus in you?
  2. What joy ’twill be at set of sun,
    In mansions beyond the blue,
    To find some souls that you have won;
    Let others see Jesus in you.
  3. Then live for Christ both day and night,
    Be faithful, be brave, and true,
    And lead the lost to life and light;
    Let others see Jesus in you.
