READ: Matthew 6:30-34

  1. Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?
  2. Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
  3. (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
  4. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
  5. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: John 6:22-71, 2 Kings 18-19

MESSAGE:

A persons countenance is his/her facial expression and this is a reflection of what is going on in his/her heart. If your heart is always bubbling with joy, you will most likely be bright all day but if you’re worried or anxious about anything, it will find a way to your face and body.

When I newly became the General Overseer of the Church, I was overwhelmed with problems of the various parishes. My Father-in-the-Lord had passed on to glory and there was no spiritual elder to share my burdens with. At 39 years of age, I started noticing grey hair on my head. I ran to God for help and He said my premature aging was due to my worrying so much. He said He was in charge of the Church so I should allow Him to handle things. Gradually, I switched from worrying to praising God and within two weeks my hair became black again.

My dear, are you looking older than your age because you worry too much? I encourage you to brace up and take that matter to God in prayers.

ACTION POINT:

Ask God to flood your heart with unspeakable joy.

HYMN: What A Friend We Have In Jesus

  1. What a friend we have in Jesus,
    All our sins and griefs to bear;
    What a privilege to carry
    Ev’rything to God in prayer
Oh! what peace we often forfeit,
Oh! what needless pain we bear
All because we do not carry
    Everything to God in prayer.
  2. Have we trials and temptations?
    Is there trouble anywhere?
    We should never be discouraged,
Take it to the Lord in prayer
Can we find a Friend so faithful
Who will all our sorrow share?
    Jesus knows our every weakness,
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
  3. Are we weak and heavy laden,
Cumbered with a load of care?
    Precious Saviour still our refuge,
Take it to the Lord in prayer
Do thy friends despise, forsake thee?
Take it to the Lord in prayer
In His arms He’ll take and shield thee,
Thou wilt find a solace there.
