TOPIC: Truly Redeemed? [Open Heaven for Teens 19 January 2022]

MEMORISE: Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. Titus 2:14

READ: Ephesians 4:22-32

22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;

23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;

24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

25 Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.

26 Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:

27 Neither give place to the devil.

28 Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.

29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

31 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:

32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Matthew 14:1-21; Genesis 44-45

MESSAGE

Just as visiting a garage regularly doesn’t make you a car, attending your Church frequently doesn’t make you Christian and being an active member of the Redeemed Christian Church of God doesn’t make you redeemed. What exactly does it mean to be redeemed? A redeemed person is an individual who has been delivered/saved from the bondage of sin and reconciled to God.

Therefore, to be redeemed, do the following:
R- Repent of your sins and have a genuine relationship with God.
E- Emulate Jesus and make conscious efforts to be Christ-like.
D- Daily fellowship and communicate with God.
E- Enthrone God in all you do.
E- Embrace holiness and righteous living.
M- Make a decision to be the light wherever you find yourself.
E- Enjoy fellowship with other Christians, they will help you stay focused.
D- Desire to study and obey God’s word

PRAYER POINT:

Father I acknowledge my sins and believe that Jesus died to redeem me. Please forgive me my Sins and give me the grace to become Your true disciple Jesus’name

HYMN 7: Just As I Am, Without One Plea

  1. Just as I am, without one plea,
    But that Thy blood was shed for me
    And that Thou bidst me come to Thee,
    Oh Lamb of God I come, I come.
  2. Just as I am, and waiting not
    To rid my soul of one dark blot
    To Thee, whose blood can cleanse each spot
    Oh Lamb of God I come, I come.
  3. Just as I am though tossed about,
    With many a conflict, many a doubt,
    Fighting’s and fears within, without,
    Oh Lamb of God I come, I come.
  4. Just as I am poor, wretched, blind,
    Sight, riches, healing of the mind
    Yea, all I need, in Thee to find
    Oh Lamb of God I come, I come.
  5. Just as I am, Thou wilt receive,
    Wilt welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve,
    Because Thy promise I believe
    Oh Lamb of God I come, I come.
  6. Just as I am Thy love unknown
    Has broken every barrier down;
    Now to be Thine, yea Thine alone,
    Oh Lamb of God I come, I come.
  7. Just as I am, of that free love
    The breadth, length, depth and
    height to prove,
    Here for a season, then above,
    Oh Lamb of God I come, I come.
