MEMORISE: Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off. Psalms 139:2

READ: Psalms 139:1-3

  1. O lord, thou hast searched me, and known me.
  2. Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.
  3. Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways.

MESSAGE:

In 2 Samuel 11:1-27, after sleeping with Bathsheba, David thought he could cover up his act of adultery and the murder of her husband, without giving a thought to Gods omnipresent nature. God is everywhere! He who sees everything later sent Prophet Nathan to pronounce His judgment on David (2 Samuel 12:1-10 ). Don’t think that you can cover up any misdeeds. God sees all you’re doing. Beyond that, He knows every thought running through your mind. In fact, the Bible says in Luke 8:17:

“For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither any thing hid, that shall not be known and come abroad”

Another thing God sees are your sacrifices and prayers. In the four Gospels, Jesus made references to giving, fasting and praying, which are things done not necessarily for public show, but are big enough to draw Gods attention if done for the right reasons. God sees and takes a record of everything you do – both openly and secretly and will reward you in due time

KEY POINT:

Whatever you don’t want people to find out about, don’t do.

HYMN: Just As I Am

  1. Just as I am, without one plea,
but that Thy blood was shed for me,
and that Thou bidst me come to Thee,
Oh Lamb of God, I come, I come.
  2. Just as I am, and waiting not
to rid my soul of one dark blot,
to Thee, whose blood can cleanse each spot,
Oh Lamb of God, I come, I come.
  3. Just as I am, though tossed about
with many a conflict, many a doubt,
    fightings and fears within, without,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.
  4. Just as I am poor, wretched, blind
Sight, riches, healing of the mind
Yea, all I need, in Thee to find
Oh Lamb of God I come,
  5. Just as I am, Thou wilt receive,
    wilt welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve;
    because Thy promise I believe,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.
  6. Just as I am Thy love unknown
    Has broken every barrier down;
Now to be Thine, yea Thine alone,
Oh Lamb of God I come, I come.
  7. Just as I am, of that free love,
    The breadth, length, depth and
    height to prove,
Here for a season, then above,
Oh Lamb of God I come, I come.
