READ: Luke 6:36-38

  1. Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.
  2. Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:
  3. Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Acts 5:17-42, Esther 4-6

MESSAGE:

Giving is one of the activities that bring harvest. When you sow bountifully on fertile ground, your harvest would also be in abundance. Anyone who gives to God has sown seeds on fertile ground. The Bible enjoins us to give not only to God but to people because giving will give us a bountiful harvest as stated in Luke 6:38

“Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.”

Our memory verse for today tells us to give to the poor and needy; by so doing, we lend to God. One thing that Im confident of is that God never owes; if you lend to Him through giving, He considers it a debt that must be paid in manifold ways. Therefore, if you are privileged and don’t give to the poor, you’re not doing well. Show mercy to the poor by giving food, clothes and material things to anyone in need. Also, you can speak with Foundations or Non-Governmental Organisations that can cater to the education or welfare of the poor in your environment.

ACTION POINT:

Set aside any good clothes or material things you have not used in the last six months and donate to your Church’s welfare department, for the needy.

HYMN 10: JUST AS I AM

  1. Just as I am, without one plea,
but that Thy blood was shed for me,
and that Thou bidst me come to Thee,
Oh Lamb of God, I come, I come.
  2. Just as I am, and waiting not
to rid my soul of one dark blot,
to Thee, whose blood can cleanse each spot,
Oh Lamb of God, I come, I come.
  3. Just as I am, though tossed about
with many a conflict, many a doubt,
    fightings and fears within, without,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.
  4. Just as I am poor, wretched, blind
Sight, riches, healing of the mind
Yea, all I need, in Thee to find
Oh Lamb of God I come,
  5. Just as I am, Thou wilt receive,
    wilt welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve;
    because Thy promise I believe,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.
  6. Just as I am Thy love unknown
    Has broken every barrier down;
Now to be Thine, yea Thine alone,
Oh Lamb of God I come, I come.
  7. Just as I am, of that free love,
    The breadth, length, depth and
    height to prove,
Here for a season, then above,
Oh Lamb of God I come, I come.
