BIBLE READING: Exodus 33:14-15

14 And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.
15 And he said unto him, If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence.

MESSAGE:

Moses was successful as the leader of the lsraelites because he knew the importance of having God’s presence in every aspect of life. He cherished God’s presence to the point that he would not make any move without the certainty of having His presence with him. When God told Moses in today’s Bible reading that His presence would be with them, this assured him of success, victory, and safety and gave him rest of mind.

It is surprising that some children of God feel they can achieve whatever they want to achieve without God being in it. They live carelessly, committing acts which they know are displeasing to God, whereas our Lord Jesus Christ said in John 15:5, “…He that abideth in me, and I in Him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.”

My dear child, don’t involve yourself in activities that are not initiated or influenced by God because there may be trouble attached to them.

KEY POINT:
Those who carry God’s presence can never be stranded in life.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
2 Samuel 1:1-2:11, John 12:20-50

HYMN 30 – When We Walk With The Lord

1 When we walk with the Lord
in the light of his word,
what a glory he sheds on our way!
While we do his good will,
he abides with us still,
and with all who will trust and obey.

Refrain:
Trust and obey, for there’s no other way
to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.

2 Not a burden we bear,
not a sorrow we share,
but our toil he doth richly repay;
not a grief or a loss,
not a frown or a cross,
but is blest if we trust and obey.

3 But we never can prove
the delights of his love
until all on the altar we lay;
for the favor he shows,
for the joy he bestows,
are for them who will trust and obey.

4 Then in fellowship sweet
we will sit at his feet,
or we’ll walk by his side in the way;
what he says we will do,
where he sends we will go;
never fear, only trust and obey.
