READ: Mark 4:35-41

  1. And the same day, when the even was come, he saith unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side.
  2. And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships.
  3. And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full.
  4. And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?
  5. And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.
  6. And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?
  7. And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: John 8:37-59, 1 Chronicles 8-10

MESSAGE:

Every facet of life is laced with different challenges. For example, a high school student, university undergraduate and a university graduate have challenges peculiar to their level. This buttresses the point of one of my sons who says: for every new level, there is a new devil. You would think that only adults should have problems but that is not the case anymore. These days, teenagers around the world are facing a lot of storms in their families, schools and circle of friends that many of them are not prepared for.

Learn from the disciples. A storm arose while they sailed; they tried all they could, yet the storm raged fiercely. They then ran to Jesus who immediately calmed the storm.

There are some situations that will require you to apply wisdom or common sense while there are some that must be turned over to the Lord if you want complete victory. Therefore, I implore you to invite Jesus into your boat today so that His presence will be your life insurance as you sail on the sea of life.

PRAYER POINT

Father, please take the wheel of my life; I surrender it to You today.

HYMN: I Need Thee Every Hour

  1. I need Thee every hour,
    Most gracious Lord;
    No tender voice like Thine
    Can peace afford.

CHORUS
I need Thee, oh, I need Thee;
Ev’ry hour I need Thee;
Oh, bless me now, my Saviour,
I come to Thee.

  1. I need Thee every hour,
    Stay Thou nearby;
    Temptations lose their power
    When Thou art nigh.
  2. I need Thee every hour,
    In joy or pain;
    Come quickly and abide,
    Or life is vain.
  3. I need Thee every hour,
    Teach me Thy will;
    And Thy rich promises
    In me fulfil.
  4. I need Thee every hour,
    Most Holy one;
    Oh, make me Thine indeed,
    Thou blessed Son!
