BIBLE READING: Isaiah 55:6-7
6 Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:
7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
MESSAGE:
Today’s memory verse illustrates God’s willingness to forgive anyone who is truly repentant and humble. The act of repentance is carried out by a fellow who recognises that he or she has not done the right things. The Bible says that anyone who knows what is right and doesn’t do it is guilty of sin (James 4:17).
As a teenager, whenever you notice that you are becoming uninterested in godly things, then you need to change and repent immediately. Also, when you begin to prefer other activities to attending church services, reading your Bible, or praying, it is an indication that you need to repent.
My dear child, I admonish you today to sit still for a moment and ask yourself these questions: Am I in need of a change? Am I still shining my light brightly for Jesus everywhere I go and in all I do? If your heart has gone cold and you have not been shining brightly for Jesus, go on your knees and ask God to rekindle His fire in you. I pray that you will continually shine your light for all to see, in Jesus’ name.
Quiz: List two characters in the Bible who genuinely turned to God for repentance after falling into sin.
ACTION POINT:
Write down any spiritual activities that you are currently struggling with or you can improve on, and list practical things you can do to get better at them.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
Luke 6:1-26; Joshua 21-22
HYMN 1 – ALL HAIL THE POWER OF JESUS’ NAME
1 All hail the power of Jesus’ name!
Let angels prostrate fall.
Bring forth the royal diadem,
and crown him Lord of all.
Bring forth the royal diadem,
and crown him Lord of all!
2 O seed of Israel’s chosen race
now ransomed from the fall,
hail him who saves you by his grace,
and crown him Lord of all.
Hail him who saves you by his grace,
and crown him Lord of all!
3 Let every tongue and every tribe
responsive to his call,
to him all majesty ascribe,
and crown him Lord of all.
To him all majesty ascribe,
and crown him Lord of all!
4 Oh, that with all the sacred throng
we at his feet may fall!
We’ll join the everlasting song
and crown him Lord of all.
We’ll join the everlasting song
and crown him Lord of all.
