MEMORISE: Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 1 John 2:15

BIBLE TEXT: Genesis 3:6-11

6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.

8 And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.

9 And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?

10 And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.

11 And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?

MESSAGE:

Dressing, in today’s world, has become mainly a statement of status, a way to seduce, or an attempt to fit in. None of these are the mind of God when it comes to dressing. God’s major purposes are to cover our nakedness and to glorify Him. Unfortunately, these purposes are gradually missing in the minds of young ones today because we are in the age of immodesty and materialism. The first set of clothing manufactured by God Himself for the first human beings, Adam and Eve, was to cover their nakedness (Genesis 3:21).

Therefore, to honour God in your dressing, you must be modest. To be modest means to be properly dressed such that no sensitive part of your body is showing. As a lady, your thighs, cleavage, chest, waist, and stomach should be properly covered. Your panty line should also not be seen through your dress. As a boy, your thigh, chest, stomach, or arms are not to be exposed for all to see. I want you to know that if you honour God with your dressing, He will also honour you (1 Samuel 2:30b).

KEY POINT:

List five trendy dressing that doesn’t glorify God and determine never to wear them

HYMN 5 – Take My Life And Let It Be

1. Take my life and let it
Consecrated Lord to Thee
Take my moment and my days
Let them flow ceaseless praise.

  1. Take my hands and let them move
    At the impulse of Thy love
    Take my feet and let them be
    Swift and beautiful for thee
  2. Take my voice and let me sing
    Always only for my king;
    Take my lips and let them be
    Filled with messages from Thee.
  3. Take my sliver and my gold
    Not a mite would I withhold
    Take my intellect, and use
    Every power as thou shalt choose.
  4. Take my will and make it Thine,
    It shall no longer mine:
    Take my heart, it is Thine own;
    It shall be Thy royal throne,
  5. Take my love, my Lord, I pour
    At Thy feet its treasure store;
    Take myself, and I will be
    Ever, only, all for thee
