TOPIC: Before The Throne (Open Heaven for Teens, 26 November 2025)

MEMORISE: Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts. – Isaiah 6:5

BIBLE READING: Isaiah 6:1-7

1 In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.

2 Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly.

3 And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.

4 And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke.

5 Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts.

6 Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar:

7 And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged.

MESSAGE:

After I gave my life to Christ, I went everywhere preaching about holiness, and I thought I was righteous until I had a revelation. In that revelation, God took me to the Great White Throne (Revelation 20:11), and I found myself looking so filthy, as if I had just been picked out of a refuse dump. By the time I came back to reality, it dawned on me that my holiness before God was filthy, and I vowed by His grace that the next time I would appear before that throne, I would be sparkling clean.

In today’s Bible reading, Isaiah faced the reality of his faith. He had been pronouncing ‘woe’ unto people and nations, but when he appeared before God, he realised that his life was not better than those he had judged. If God opens the eyes of believers and shows them who they really are before Him, they will stop criticising and judging others; rather, they will be constantly asking for mercy so He can justify them.

The Bible says in 2 Timothy 2:19 that those who are called by Christ’s name should run away from sin. Therefore, you must avoid acts or things that will cause you to sin so that when you appear before God’s throne on the last day, He will commend you for living a holy life.

PRAYER POINT:
Father, please help me to remain pure before You.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
Daniel 2:24-3:30, 1 Peter 4:7-5:14

HYMN 9 – Immortal, Invisible, God Only Wise

1 Immortal, invisible, God only wise,
In light inaccessible hid from our eyes,
Most blessed, most glorious, the Ancient of Days,
Almighty, victorious,
Thy great name we praise.

2 Unresting, unhasting, and silent as light,
Nor wanting, nor wasting, Thou rulest in might;
Thy justice like mountains high soaring above
Thy clouds which are fountains
of goodness and love.

3 To all life Thou givest, to both great and small;
In all life Thou livest, the true life of all;
We blossom and flourish as leaves on the tree,
And wither and perish, but nought changeth Thee.

4 Great Father of Glory, pure Father of Light
Thine angels adore Thee, all veiling their sight;
All laud we would render, O help Us to see:
‘Tis only the splendour of light hideth Thee.
