MEMORISE: Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God. 2 Corinthians 5:20

READ: 1 Corinthians 8:9-13

  1. But take heed lest by any means this liberty of your’s become a stumblingblock to them that are weak.
  2. For if any man see thee which hast knowledge sit at meat in the idol’s temple, shall not the conscience of him which is weak be emboldened to eat those things which are offered to idols;
  3. And through thy knowledge shall the weak brother perish, for whom Christ died?
  4. But when ye sin so against the brethren, and wound their weak conscience, ye sin against Christ.
  5. Wherefore, if meat make my brother to offend, I will eat no flesh while the world standeth, lest I make my brother to offend.

MESSAGE:

An ambassador is an accredited person who represents his/her nation in a foreign country. When a country chooses a person to serve as an ambassador, it means the fellow has characteristics that reflect who they are and who they want to be.

It is not difficult to know those who are true ambassadors. Jesus said: by their fruits, you will know them. Galatians 5:22-23 lists the fruit of the Spirit expected of us as believers. Are you patient, kind, peaceful? Can your friends, neighbours and siblings testify that truly, you are an ambassador of Christ? A renowned Muslim cleric once said that if he could find ten Christians like Adeboye, he would convert to Christianity. Your fruit should make others want to convert to Christ.

Don’t let your attitude be a stumbling block to others who want to come to Christ. If you claim to be Christs ambassador, let it show in your attitude and relationship with others.
