BIBLE READING: Ezekiel 18:26-28
26 When a righteous man turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and dieth in them; for his iniquity that he hath done shall he die.
27 Again, when the wicked man turneth away from his wickedness that he hath committed, and doeth that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul alive.
28 Because he considereth, and turneth away from all his transgressions that he hath committed, he shall surely live, he shall not die.
MESSAGE:
When you sin against God and ask Him for forgiveness, He forgives completely and also forgets. This is the reason today’s Bible reading explained that if a sinner, who has spent his or her lifetime in sin, repents just before death comes, all (and I mean ALL) the fellow’s sins would be blotted out, and his or her record before God would be as though he or she never sinned.
If God, our Creator, can forgive and forget, you too can forgive anyone who wrongs you and forget their offence. Initially, this may be difficult, especially if you have a photographic and analytical mind. It could take a long while to get some thoughts or experiences out of your mind, but as you open up to the Holy Spirit In prayers, your mind will become free.
The flesh is naturally vengeful and always wants to retaliate; therefore, you need the Holy Spirit to help you forgive those who have wronged you. My dear child, are you struggling with feelings of neglect from your parents or the experience of maltreatment from a teacher or guardian? I want to encourage you to ask the Holy Spirit to help you to forgive them and heal you from the hurt.
ACTION POINT:
Pray for anyone who might have hurt you, and ask God to heal you completely from every hurt.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
Judges 17:1-18:31, John 3:1-21
HYMN 64: When Upon Life’s Billows You Are Tempest Tossed
1 When upon life’s billows you are tempest tossed
When you are discouraged, thinking all is lost,
Count your many blessings, name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.
Chorus
Count your blessings,
name them one by one;
Count your blessings,
see what God hath done;
Count your blessings,
name them one by one,
Count your many blessings,
see what God hath done.
2 Are you ever burdened with a load of care?
Does the cross seem heavy you are called to bear?
Count your many blessings, ev’ry doubt will fly,
And you will be singing as the days go by.
3 When you look at others with their lands and gold,
Think that Christ has promised you His wealth untold;
Count your many blessings, money cannot buy
Your reward in heaven, nor your home on high.
4 So, amid the conflict, whether great or small,
Do not be discouraged, God is over all;
Count your many blessings, angels will attend,
Help and comfort give you to your journey’s end.
