BIBLE READING: Matthew 4:8-10
8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;
9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.
10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
MESSAGE:
In the world today, many young people are enticed by offers that appear promising marriage proposals, lucrative job opportunities, chances to travel to greener pastures, et cetera. However, beneath some of those attractive prospects often lie dangerous traps such as human trafficking for prostitution purposes and initiation into secret societies or drug trafficking organisations.
My dear child, be cautious of offers that seem too good to be true, especially when they come with conditions that compromise your Christian faith and values. You must know that whatever gifts the devil offers are never free, and yielding to such temptations will distance you from God and result in grave consequences. On the other hand, God is capable of blessing His children with genuine opportunities, be it in academics, career advancements, finance, et cetera.
Beloved, it is important that you discern the blessings that come from God and those from the devil. To be able to discern whether a particular blessing comes from God or the devil, you must have a deep relationship with the Holy Spirit. He is the Revealer of hidden things, and He will guide you So that you will not stumble.
Quiz: Who doubted God’s promise of having a son because he and his wife were very old?
CONFESSION:
I yield completely to the Holy Spirit. I subject my mind, heart, choices, decisions, and life to Him, in Jesus’
name.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
Luke 7:1-30, Judges 1-2
HYMN 43 – Lead Us Heavenly Father, Lead Us
1 Lead Us, Heavenly Father, Lead Us
O’er The World’s Tempestuous Sea;
Guard Us, Guide Us, Keep Us, Feed Us,
For We Have No Help But Thee,
Yet Possessing Every Blessing
If Our God Our Father Be.
2 Saviour, Breathe Forgiveness O’er Us;
All Our Weakness Thou Dost Know;
Thou Didst Tread This Earth Before Us,
Thou Didst Feel lts Keenest Woe;
Lone And Dreary, Faint And Weary,
Through The Desert Thou Didst Go.
3 Spirit Of Our God, Descending,
Fill Our Hearts With Heavenly Joy,
Love With Every Passion Blending,
Pleasure That Can Never Cloy;
Thus Provided, Pardoned, Guided,
Nothing Can Our Peace Destroy
