TOPIC – Divine Help (Open Heaven for Teens, 6 July 2026)
MEMORISE: God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1
READ: Psalm 121:1-8 (KJV)
1 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
2 My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.
3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.
4 Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand.
6 The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.
7 The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.
8 The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.
MESSAGE:
One of the kings in the Bible who went through a lot of troubles was David. However, one thing he never did was to rely on his strength, wisdom, soldiers, or armoury; he always looked up to God. There was a time he went to war with his soldiers; however, before he returned, his camp had been raided. His entire household, including those of his soldiers, had been taken away as captives. In his sorrowful state, David turned to God for help and direction (1 Samuel 30:1-8).

My dear child, when in trouble, who do you look up to? In today’s Bible reading, David boldly declared that his help comes from God, the Maker of heaven and earth. I want you to know that God is your ever-present help in times of trouble. The secret to my success as the General Overseer of RCCG is divine help from God. I am always quick to say, “God, help me.”
Beloved, when you are faced with any challenge, I admonish you to call on God, and He will show you the way out. Also, when you are in need, cry out to Him in prayers, and He will send help your way.
PRAYER POINT:
Father, please send help to me today.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
Mark 12:1-27; Deuteronomy 5-7
HYMN 27: What A Friend We Have In Jesus
1 What a Friend we have in Jesus,
All our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry
Everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit,
O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry
Everything to God in prayer!
2 Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged,
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful
Who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness,
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
3 Are we weak and heavy-laden,
Cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge,
Take it to the Lord in prayer;
Do thy friends despise, forsake thee?
Take it to the Lord in prayer;
In His arms He’ll take and shield thee,
Thou wilt find a solace there.
