READ: Genesis 13:8-12

8 And Abram said unto Lot, Let there be no strife, I pray thee, between me and thee, and between my herdmen and thy herdmen; for we be brethren.

9 Is not the whole land before thee? separate thyself, I pray thee, from me: if thou wilt take the left hand, then I will go to the right; or if thou depart to the right hand, then I will go to the left.

10 And Lot lifted up his eyes, and beheld all the plain of Jordan, that it was well watered every where, before the Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, even as the garden of the Lord, like the land of Egypt, as thou comest unto Zoar.

11 Then Lot chose him all the plain of Jordan; and Lot journeyed east: and they separated themselves the one from the other.

12 Abram dwelled in the land of Canaan, and Lot dwelled in the cities of the plain, and pitched his tent toward Sodom.

MESSAGE:

People make different choices that can affect their lives both positively and negatively every day. You can either choose to be like Daniel, who chose correctly, or Lot, who chose wrongly. However, making the right decision is a function of how in tune you are with the Holy Spirit, who will guide you into all truth (John 16:13). It is my prayer that you will choose rightly and according to the leading of the Holy Spirit in Jesus’ name.

It is the choices we make that determine who we are and who we will become. Believe me, a fellow can choose to be successful or not, but I implore you to choose success.

However, if your choice is success, you must have the right attitude and be confident in yourself, read the Bible daily for more wisdom, be prayerful, be a blessing to people around you, surround yourself with good people and great minds, have the right mindset towards things, and be hardworking, committed, and open to corrections. Also, always ask the Holy Spirit for guidance before making any decision. I am convinced that with God on your side, you will be greatly successful.

KEY POINT
The choices you make will determine the results you get.

HYMN 8: Forth In Your Name

  1. Forth in your name, O Lord, I go,
    My daily labor to pursue,
You only, Lord, resolved to know
In all I think or speak or do.
  2. The task your wisdom has assigned
    Here let me cheerfully fulfill;
In all my work your presence find,
And prove your good and perfect will.
  3. You may I set at my right hand,
Whose eyes my inmost secrets view,
And labor on at your command
And offer all my work to you.
  4. Help me to bear your easy yoke
In ev’ry moment watch and pray,
And still to things eternal look
And hasten to that glorious day.
  5. Then with delight may I employ
All that your bounteous grace has given,
And run my earthly course with joy,
And closely walk with you in heaven.
